Continental Airlines Hubs and Primary Routes

Houston Bush Intercontinental is the home airport for the airline’s headquarters and one of its 3 primary hubs. Houston’s far-reaching airport leaves a bit to be desired, but the airline offers a huge number of connections across the US (with particular strength in Texas), a deep route structure in Mexico and Latin America, and flights to Europe and Asia.

Newark Liberty Airport is Continental’s largest hub and they are the largest carrier at the airport. Nonstop flights are available across the country from Newark, as are a wide range of flights to Europe, including secondary markets such as Bristol, England. Continental also offers a deep regional presence out of Newark to small towns across the Northeast.

Cleveland has seemingly been the red-headed stepchild of Continental’s hub operations, with frequent rumors of its demise. Until that happens, Cleveland will continue to offer lots of regional jet flights around the Midwest, as well as a flight to London and Paris, for Midwesterners starved for nonstop flights to Europe.

Guam is Continental’s little-known outpost I the Pacific. Continental has run its Continental Micronesia operation for more than 40 years, serving a series of Mid-Pacific islands (including Chuuk and Pohnpei), as well as a wide array of cities in Japan.
